About the Role

As a senior texture artist for Gimbal, you will produce all sorts of organic textures related to natural environments on multiple AAA games simultaneously.

You will be responsible for creating and applying the textures kit to objects and game environments autonomously, taking all the technical constraints into account.

We are on the lookout for an artist that will regularly seek out advice from their colleagues to refine and perfect the art assigned as well as develop a solid foundation within the company.


  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in texture design for games;

  • Excellent visual design skills;

  • Expert-level knowledge of graphic design tools, such as Photoshop, Substance Painter and Designer;

  • Expert level of knowledge of 3D texture/shader creation techniques, such as colour, normal, specular, and bump maps using 3D applications;

  • Attention to detail, a gifted aesthetic eye and the ability to quickly grasp and distill highly complex matters;

  • A good grasp of underlying technical concepts;

  • Creative, collaborative, and innovative mindset;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Motivation to seek input from colleagues and the ability to adapt accordingly. *Knowledge of 3D scanning and optimization techniques is an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating high-quality textures for our game Art assets.

  • Work within a cross-functional team including Level artist, Model Artist, and the Art director, as well as collaborating with other designers.

  • Collaborate with cross-region teams to define the wise plan for material and texture solutions for the AAA games we work on.

  • Adapt your work based on feedback from development testers and collaborating teams.

  • Participate in the development of procedural systems used to apply vegetation to the overall game.
